Photo of the Day: Jen and Ollie Watch the Sunset

I don’t often feature people in my photos, but I couldn’t resist sharing this shot of my wife and dog on the beach watching the sunset at Cape May Point.

  1. Hello Michael,

It’s been awhile since we met you and Jen at our Sierra Club cleanup on the D&R Canal. This is a lovely photo – what kind of dog is Ollie? I remember your beautiful tribute to your senior dog. We lost 2 of ours over the past year and it’s terrible. We still have 2 – Fortunato beagle mix will be 19 in September and he’s carried in and out but has that beagle appetite and bay. The mini-pin is 11 and just as spunky when we adopted him at 2.

I’m looking at your Photos of the Day again and they are just incredible – the Croatia view is quite amazing. We have SC hikes/walks that start again in October. Our personal website has the schedule thru September and in a couple weeks we’ll post the fall. Dogs are always welcome as in the Outing description. Maybe you and Jen and Ollie can join us. We added Jamesburg (Helmetta) and Thompson Park for the fall. I read there is a Bald Eagle nest in that area and residents have seen the eagles.

    Regards,

    Leona

    1. Hi Leona,

Thank you for the compliments on my photos. I’m sorry for your recent losses, I know how hard it is. I still think about Heidi every day. 19 years old is impressive–go Fortunato!

Ollie is a corgie/jack russell mix. We weren’t actively looking for another dog but he fell into our laps last year when Jen’s sister had to give him up. He’s 5 years old and an absolute joy. We’re very lucky.

I will definitely keep an eye out for hikes in the fall and see if we can make one.

It was good to hear from you.

      Michael
