This collection features photos of underground pools in Luray Caverns. Most of them were shot at the main Mirror Pool, where the water is so still that it produces a perfect reflection, resulting in imagery reminiscent of landscapes you might see in a science fiction film.
This photo is from my second Eurotrip in 2009 (and second time accompanying my uncle’s German class as a chaperone). Since this was also my second visit to Nymphenburg Palace in Munich, Germany, I decided on this occasion to spend more time walking around the front of the palace so I could capture photos like this, with the palace reflecting on a pond full of swans.
This was taken on a Cape Forchu, Nova Scotia beach that we had entirely to ourselves, except for the sandpipers. I captured this little guy digging for food away from the rest of the flock. It’s not the highest quality shot, but I like the way his entire reflection is visible in the wet sand.
