California Trip, 2014: Lombard Street in San Francisco

A few photos taken along San Francisco’s famous Lombard Street (the “crookedest street in the world”) during my visit in October 2014, including one heavily cropped photo of the twisty section from further up the road (if I had realized what I was looking at I could have zoomed in for a much better shot), and one night pic snapped while standing on the twisty section and looking out toward the bay.

Canada Trip, 2016: The Citadel in Halifax

These photos were taken on a foggy and drizzly morning spent at the Citadel, a colonial-era fortification in the middle of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which remained garrisoned through the early 1900’s. In addition to photos of Citadel itself, there are also shots of the city viewed from up on the Citadel hill, as well as pics of a labyrinthine, life-sized replica of a World War I trench that we were able to walk through.

American Northwest Trip, 2017: Wildlife Loop, Custer State Park

On the way to Mount Rushmore I detoured for several scenic drives, including Custer State Park’s Wildlife Loop, which takes you through rolling green hills reminiscent of the English countryside. For most of the drive I did not encounter much wildlife except for a lone antelope and a distant herd of bison, but toward the end I came upon a vast field of prairie dogs, antelope, and other animals. It’s a nice, pleasant drive, worth the diversion if you have the time.
