London Trip, 2016: The Thames at Night

These photos are from our stroll along the Thames back in February of 2016 (we were in London for my sister-in-law’s wedding). It was a cold, but nice night–I was happy to finally have my wife with me on a trip abroad. Sadly, it would turn out to be our last bit of fun before I became deathly ill for the rest of the trip, followed by my wife a couple of days later. We had been planning to take a train to Bath the following day but instead I spent it in the hotel room, with my poor wife wandering the city looking for medicine. Then at the end of the trip, she had it worse than me to the point where we had to stay an extra night just so she would be well enough to fly home. Good times. Anyway, I got some cool photos out of the experience…

Seattle Trip, 2019: A Bird’s Eye View

On one of Seattle’s infamous rainy days I decided to engage in some indoor activities, including an elevator ride to the Sky View Observatory of Columbia Center, the tallest building in Washington. The observation deck offers great views of the city through clean glass, and it’s easy to get good shots with very little glass reflection.

The Columbia Center also features a snack and drink bar, so you can grab a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery from one of the window-side tables. Many people actually prefer the views here to the ones at the Space Needle. For one thing, the Columbia Center is taller and much less crowded, and for another, you can’t take a photo of the Space Needle if you’re inside of it. 🙂

Here are some of the photos I shot during my time up there. Click on any image to open a gallery.

Photo of the Day: Art Pavilion in Zagreb

During the Croatia leg of my month in Europe back in 2011, I spent one gloomy November day in the capital city of Zagreb before heading down to Split and Dubrovnik. Zagreb is a very interesting city, with a mixture of the old and the new; definitely worth a visit.

This was one of the first buildings I saw during my walk into the city: the Art Pavilion in Tomislava Square.
